To Paul and Silas all people were equal Couldn't leave this women filled by evil Cast out the demon who fled so feeble You tell me why such love wasn't legal You see, God inhabits the praises of his people Tried beating out their spirit, locked them in cages Red truth singing from their scars and grazes To this day, their certainty amazes Faith echoing through the ages You see they knew God inhabits their praises Refusing to be downbeat or passive They sang, pure hearts causing havoc An earthquake shaking up the planet loosened chains, opened doors, cracked granite You see in their praises, God inhabits The guard's stomach drops, his panic raises But the integrity of Gods people amazes Standing firm, hope etched on their faces He hears the truth, their faith he traces You see he saw God inhabit their praises You see God inhabits the praises of his people In a cold cell, not just under a steeple Every day you can soar like an eagle You are Regal You see God inhabits the praises of his people
