My heart fell for yours with the autumn leaves
For the way you courted each step with awe
And how you wore pristine joy on your sleeve
I’d never known a face to shine like yours
I long for you the most on golden days
When the promise of fun buzzes like bees
With new adventures waiting to amaze
My thoughts still reach for you across the seas
I daydream of knocking on your front door
To share my day, sipping on smokey tea
Then sink on the sofa to watch you draw
Soaking up the calm that’s sure to mend me
For loving kindness runs warm through your veins
And gentle beauty’s written in your name
